Working on an idea for a new sculpture. Pictured here, garment silhouettes are traced and cut from thin sheets of copper and distorted to appear as if they are caught in a whirlwind. The silhouettes are attached with wire to a larger rod, which is twisted into an irregular coil.
I like the way the swirling of the clothing makes me think of the swirling of my thoughts or the swirling of my activities from one day to the next. Is it a storm or is it a dance?
