Hem, 2, Textile Rubbing

This mixed media work was created in collaboration with artist Kelly Reemtsen for a two-person exhibition at Galleri Oxholm in Copenhagen, Denmark. We began by cutting seams from non-wearable clothing and assembling them onto a printing plate. I then made rubbings from the plate using wax pastels, after which Kelly added color by hand with acrylic and added buttons.

The resulting marks carry the material memory of the garments. They record shape, construction, and the subtle traces left by their wearers.

The work is made on polyester drafting film, selected for its buttery surface and full archival stability.
