This work, in collaboration with the artist Kelly Reemtsen, was created by cutting seams from non-wearable clothing, assembling them into a printing plate, and producing rubbings that were further worked with acrylic paint.
The marks transfer the material memory of the garments, capturing their shapes and revealing the traces left by their wearers.
The surface is polyester drafting film, chosen for its buttery texture and full archival quality.
Size, unframed: 40″ x 36″ (H x W)
Materials: Encaustic & watercolor pastel on drafting film, mounted to museum board.
